Roots of Pacha

Roots of Pacha launched on April 25, 2023 and has since received three substantial post-launch content updates. The 1.2 update arrived on July 31, 2024, adding new systems like school-age children, mountable pets, intermediate saves, and Xbox cross-platform play. The 1.3 update — described in December 2024 as "our final massive update for our Kickstarter content" — launched on April 22, 2025, delivering two entirely new regions (the Mograni Mountains and Yakuan Islands), 19 new characters, new animals, new biomes, new cave systems, and a substantial story conclusion. Following the 1.3 release, the developer posted a Holiday message on December 25, 2025 confirming that work had shifted to a second game: "This year was an exciting one for us! We released a major update for our first baby, Roots of Pacha, and also began work on a second game." On April 16, 2026, a surprise Anniversary Update shipped with quality-of-life improvements and smaller additions (pet hats, new cutscenes, new prosperity spots), but this post explicitly framed it as a thank-you gift while the team is focused on their second game: "We've been busy at work on the second game, but we also wanted to give some love to our first." The December 2024 devlog also stated: "After this patch, we hope to continue adding content if the game continues to sell and allows us to sustain development" — conditional language consistent with development wrapping up. Taken together, the Kickstarter content obligations have been fulfilled, the studio has publicly pivoted to a new project, and the April 2026 update was framed as an appreciation gesture rather than the start of a new content cycle. No future updates have been announced for Roots of Pacha. The game's content is effectively complete as of the April 16, 2026 Anniversary Update.
