Evaluation

City Climber launched on February 24, 2017 and received active post-launch support through early 2018. The developer shipped new gameplay content via a free update in May 2017 (two new challenge modes, new hats, and additional achievements), followed by a visual upgrade patch in February 2018 and a Soundtrack & Extras DLC on March 9, 2018. All listed DLC has been released, and no new DLC or expansions have been announced since. The developer's most recent communication, posted on October 18, 2022, was a milestone announcement celebrating 40,000 copies sold. Critically, the developer explicitly stated they are now working on a new game called ARTIFICIAL — a first-person physics-based puzzle platformer — and directed players there for future activity. This is a clear signal that City Climber's development chapter is closed and the developer has moved on. The last substantive content for City Climber shipped in March 2018, and the developer's own October 2022 post reinforces that their focus has fully shifted to a new project. The game launched as a complete package and received modest post-launch additions that have since concluded. City Climber is a finished product.
