On March 30, 2020, the developer (Cole/COLNELIUS) posted a farewell message explicitly stating that he and his collaborator completed the game at launch in 2015 and that game development was "no longer something I practice." He confirmed no further support or updates would be provided, and made the game permanently free. This is a clear, direct statement that the game is finished. Subsequent news posts from November 2021 and February 2022 were about the developer announcing and releasing an entirely separate game (The Dark Dwellers), which is consistent with having moved on from Clandestinity of Elsie. The game launched as a complete product in July 2015 and has received no post-launch content updates.

Clandestinity of Elsie is a Survival/Psychological-Horror game based in the post-WW2 New York State cities of Albany and Troy.
Story
You play as Hayden Warrick, a mentally damaged alcoholic and war veteran. Haunted by his past, he must unravel the mystery of his wife Elsie's sudden disappearance. You must scavenge, kill, and survive long enough to find her. Mostly taking place in vast darkness, you must continue your objective of finding Hayden's wife Elsie while ensuring his own all-important survival.
