Clinical Trial is a free prologue to the full game BioGun, released on January 26, 2024. It was always explicitly described as a "prologue version" of BioGun — a free taster covering the first two areas of the full game, designed to build interest before the full release. The prologue received several patches in early 2024 (January 30, February 5, and February 27) addressing bugs and adding quality-of-life improvements. On April 16, 2024, the developer announced that BioGun itself had launched into Early Access on Steam, effectively marking the completion of the prologue's purpose. The game is no longer purchasable — it has been removed from the storefront, which is consistent with the prologue having served its function as a pre-release marketing tool for BioGun. There is no indication that any further content was ever planned for Clinical Trial itself; it was a fixed, scoped preview experience by design.
