Command & Conquer™ and The Covert Operations™

Command & Conquer and The Covert Operations is a classic RTS title from Westwood Studios, re-released on Steam on March 7, 2024 as part of the C&C Ultimate Collection. The store description confirms it includes the original game plus The Covert Operations expansion pack — this is a complete, self-contained package. The most notable post-launch communication came on February 27, 2025, when EA announced the release of the game's source code under the GPL license, along with Steam Workshop support for several other titles in the C&C series. Importantly, this announcement focused on community empowerment and preservation tools — source code access, modding support packs, and Workshop integration — rather than signaling any new paid content, expansions, or a structured update roadmap for this specific title. There are no unreleased DLC entries, no announced expansions, and no roadmap suggesting further content development. The release of source code under an open license is typically associated with a game entering long-term community stewardship rather than active commercial development. This game shipped as a complete historical package, and EA's communications have not indicated any plans to add new content to it.
