Command & Conquer Red Alert™, Counterstrike™ and The Aftermath™

Command & Conquer Red Alert, Counterstrike, and The Aftermath are classic 1990s RTS titles that were re-released on Steam as part of the C&C Ultimate Collection on March 7, 2024. The games are sold as a complete, finished package bundling the original Red Alert game and its two expansion packs — Counterstrike and The Aftermath — exactly as they were originally released. There is no new content planned for these specific titles. The most notable post-launch development was a February 27, 2025 announcement from EA, in which a community veteran was commissioned to restore and open-source the C&C Red Alert source code under the GPL license. This is a preservation and community empowerment initiative — not a signal of new game content. The same post also announced Steam Workshop support for several other C&C titles, but Red Alert specifically was not listed among those receiving Workshop support; it was instead the subject of the source code release. No DLC has been announced or released, no roadmap for new content exists, and the developer's communications point toward community preservation and modding tools rather than any planned additions to the game itself. This is a complete classic re-release that shipped as a finished product.
