Evaluation
Counterpact launched on December 31, 2023 after roughly two years of development. The launch post explicitly stated the game "will continue to grow" and promised six holiday events per year along with ongoing content additions. In the weeks following launch, the developer delivered on this promise with a Lunar New Year event on February 15, 2024, a new weapon for an existing character on January 11, 2024, and additional cosmetic content on March 19, 2024 and April 3, 2024. The store description also directly states that "new weapons will be added over time."
However, the last developer communication of any kind was on April 3, 2024. Given the developer's prior pattern of posting every one to six weeks and their explicit commitment to six holiday events per year (which would mean roughly a dozen additional events should have occurred between April 2024 and June 2026), the prolonged silence is a significant concern. There is no developer statement explaining the pause, no announcement of a hiatus, and no indication of whether development is continuing. The promised content cycle appears to have stalled with no public explanation.

Counterpact is a 2D platform-shooter that pits two teams against each other, or a solo player against the tough, radiant forces the Gilded Spire has to offer.
7 Unique Characters
Each playable character comes with their own set of mechanics. If you enjoy glass cannon gameplay, try Shiniko the Reaper, who can output some serious damage despite her low health and close-ranged attacks; use her Dash to maneuver around (or through) enemies. Prefer to take a beefier approach? Try SYS.TR the Bulwark, who can use channel the damage she receives into powerful auras using her Rerouted Power.
Different Weapons to Try
Don't like how a character plays by default? Maybe the current situation calls for something different? Perhaps you're just looking for to spice up their gameplay? Each character has a variety of alternate weapons to choose from, some of which even change their role, all while keeping their core mechanics intact. New weapons will be added over time as well.
Over 200 Cosmetics to Collect
By simply playing the game (no microtransactions are involved), you can earn Eclipsium which can be used to purchase new weapons and cosmetics. Cosmetic items include different outfits for characters, little pets that follow you, chairs that you can sit on, emotes to taunt with, and more. Having a hard time getting what you want? Don't worry, you can even trade items with other players.
Enter the Gilded Spire
If you want a solo experience, the Gilded Spire awaits you. Fight through four floors of bulky enemies and traps for a chance to earn riches. If you really want to challenge yourself and reap great rewards, try conquering the Gilded Spire on the Blinding difficulty. After that, you can truly test yourself with Gilded Gauntlets.
