Cowpocalypse - Episode 0 is the original 2019 free-to-play release, a short (1–2 hour) introductory episode of a planned two-episode adventure game. The developer had a rocky road with the follow-up: a September 2019 Indiegogo crowdfunding attempt for Episode 2 fell through due to eligibility issues with the developer's country (Hungary), and a January 2021 update cited COVID-19 hardships and an indefinite delay for any sequel work. However, the story has a significant new development. In March 2026, the developer posted a teaser signaling something was coming, and on April 23, 2026, announced that a full 3D remake of Cowpocalypse — titled "Cowpocalypse - The Night of the Lights" — is now in development and has an active Steam store page for wishlisting. The developer explicitly states this remake is "about setting the foundation for what comes next," with future episodes planned in the same style. This is a clear, active signal that the developer has resumed work on the Cowpocalypse universe in a new form. This original Episode 0 release itself is a complete, standalone episode as originally shipped — but the broader Cowpocalypse story continues in the form of the announced remake and its planned follow-on episodes.

About this game

Cowpocalypse - Episode 1 is a puzzle filled, Point & Click style adventure game. Discover the mysteries and solve the puzzles by interacting with objects and talking to characters. This episode is about 1-2 hours long, and serves as an introduction to the world which will be further explained in the second (and last) episode (that will probably be 5-6 hours long).

When Bran is woken up by a loud noise at the middle of the night, he has to discover that a reindeer is stuck inside his bedroom roof. It turns out that the animal is called Rudolf and belongs to Santa, who is also there at the backyard.
Besides the strange visitors, there is a more urgent problem that needs to be solved. Bran is responsible to look after the family's cows, while his parents are away for the weekend. The problem is that they disappeared.

Where did Santa and Rudolf came from? How did the cows escape? Are these strange things connected somehow? Could Bran find out what's going on and get the cows back in time, before it's too late?
