About this game

Your Next Solve Starts Here

Settle into a firelit workshop and make every move count. Cubing Forge brings hands-on learning, free experimentation and focused practice together in one cubing game.

Work towards your first solve, explore a new puzzle or refine the techniques you already know. Play with a virtual puzzle using a mouse, keyboard or controller, or connect a compatible Bluetooth smart cube for supported 3×3 activities.

Five Puzzles. Room to Grow.

Explore 2×2, 3×3, 4×4, 5×5 and Megaminx, each with virtual play, solve timing and its own Library content. Try a compact corner puzzle, build centres and pair edges on larger cubes, or take on the twelve faces of the Megaminx.

Choose your puzzle and practise at your own pace. A physical cube is optional.

Open a Book. Understand the Next Move.

The Library is organised like a collection of puzzle books. Choose a puzzle, pick a method and open a chapter, with clear explanations and interactive examples close at hand.

Guided lessons explain the goal, how to hold the puzzle, what to look for, which moves to use and how to check the result. Explore prepared examples, pause playback, step through a sequence and repeat it until the movement makes sense.

  • 2×2: Beginner and Ortega guides, with orientation and permutation cases.
  • 3×3: Separate Beginner, CFOP, Roux and Advanced CFOP / ZB sections, including ZBLS and ZBLL case libraries. Roux introduces block building, two-look CMLL and selected last-six-edge tools.
  • 4×4 and 5×5: Centre building, edge pairing, the beginner finish and puzzle-specific parity situations.
  • Megaminx: A beginner path from the first star through the final layer.
Search for cases, study recognition tips and mark supported algorithm cases as learned. Apply what you study to your virtual puzzle or the physical puzzle in front of you.

Build Your Skills, Chapter by Chapter

The 3×3 Campaign takes you from understanding pieces and notation to your first solve and more demanding challenges. Objectives check the cube's actual state, so progression comes from completing the task yourself.

In 3×3 Free Cubing, use the Beginner Guide or CFOP Assistant when you need help deciding what comes next. Revisit learned 3×3 algorithms in Daily Trials and practise recalling the moves yourself.

Make the Anvil Your Practice Space

Free Cubing gives you room to experiment with all five puzzles. Generate scrambles, try algorithms, inspect different angles and practise individual turns. Keep the puzzle in focus and open guidance or options when you need them.

Measure More Than Your Final Time

Time virtual solves across all five puzzle types. Organise practice into sessions and review solve history, averages, personal bests and trends.

For supported tracked solves, inspect move counts and turns per second. Verified 3×3 CFOP solves also reveal time spent on Cross, F2L, OLL and PLL, with phase splits shown after the solve. See where your practice is paying off and where to focus next.

Bring Your Own Turns into the Forge

Connect a compatible Bluetooth smart cube for supported 3×3 play, lessons and practice. Implemented protocol families cover selected GAN, Monster Go, MoYu, QiYi / X-Man, GoCube and Rubik's Connected devices.

Compatibility and features vary by model, firmware, operating system and Bluetooth hardware; not every model has been physically tested. Smart-cube connectivity is available for compatible 3×3 models. The other puzzle types can be played virtually.

A Workshop to Make Your Own

Enjoy the glow and crackle of the hearth, customise your workshop and adjust controls, display and audio to suit your practice. Cubing Forge includes Steam Achievements, Steam Cloud support and text in English, Dutch, German, French, Spanish, Japanese and Hungarian.

Independently created by a solo developer, Cubing Forge continues to be shaped by player feedback. Whether you are finding your first solution or refining a familiar method, there is always another move to understand.

A little practice. A lasting craft.
