CyberWaifu came out on February 22, 2021 as a desktop app for video chat and interaction with custom character models. Its early updates added features: stereoscopic and background blur options on June 10, 2023, a Version 3.0 update adding a Jailbreak Mode for chat on September 2, 2023, and a stability and chat-service fix on October 26, 2023. The developer then posted nothing until October 9, 2026, when it shipped Version 5.0 with a new interface and experience. That update is one day old, and its post does not describe any upcoming content. The store page lists only the base app, with no add-ons. Because the developer has not said whether more updates are planned, and the major update came after the October 26, 2023 post, the app appears to be a finished product that just received a major refresh, and what comes next is not yet known.
