Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc launched on Steam on February 18, 2016 as a port of the original game — a complete, self-contained visual novel/adventure experience with no post-launch content cycle planned. In the weeks after release, the developer issued two bug-fix patches (February 25 and March 31, 2016) addressing stability and platform issues, and on February 23, 2016 added Linux/SteamOS support. The last meaningful update to the game itself was on August 5, 2016, when Japanese and Traditional Chinese language support was added. No DLC, expansions, or post-launch content were ever announced or released for this title. There are no unreleased DLC entries on the store. All subsequent developer news posts are about entirely separate Spike Chunsoft titles — including Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair (April 2016), Zanki Zero: Last Beginning (April 2019), SHUTEN ORDER (September 2025), and a newly announced Danganronpa 2x2 (September 2025) — none of which affect the content status of Trigger Happy Havoc. This game shipped as a finished product and has been complete since its post-launch language patch in August 2016.

About this game
Hope's Peak Academy is home to Japan's best and brightest high school students—the beacons of hope for the future. But that hope suddenly dies when Makoto Naegi and his classmates find themselves imprisoned in the school, cut off from the outside world and subject to the whims of a strange, murderous little bear named Monokuma.
