Evaluation
DarkEnd launched on October 17, 2014 as a self-contained retro dungeon-crawler RPG. Shortly after launch, the developer announced a free expansion called "The Vault of Avalon," which was delivered and incorporated into the game. A feature update (version 1.5) followed on July 19, 2015, adding Steam Achievements, a new leveling system, music, and various bug fixes. Two small bug-fix patches rounded out post-launch support. The developer's last substantive communication about DarkEnd was a price reduction announcement on July 27, 2018, which closed with "please look forward to our future project" — indicating the studio had moved on. An earlier 2016 post confirmed the team had shifted focus to a new game (Wanda - A Beautiful Apocalypse). No additional DLC, expansions, or updates have been announced or shipped since mid-2015. The store description contains no references to ongoing or planned content. The game appears to have launched as a complete product, received its one planned expansion, and concluded support over a decade ago.
Evidence
Developer permanently reduced DarkEnd's price and said 'please look forward to our future project,' indicating no further DarkEnd content is planned.
Version 1.5 released with Steam Achievements, a new Milestone Leveling System, rebalanced enemies, new music, and bug fixes — the last major update to the game.
