Evaluation

Dead Grid launched its full 1.0 release on February 4, 2026, after several years in Early Access. Since then, solo developer Paul has maintained a rapid and consistent update pace. Version 1.1 "Slow Roast" arrived on March 15, 2026, adding a new challenge mode, achievements, and balance improvements. Version 1.2 "Aftermath" launched on July 30, 2026, delivering a major New Game+ mode, a new Dojo combat system, a new playable character (Sam), 48 merc outfits, new enemy statuses, new gadgets, and much more. Following the 1.2 launch, the developer has continued pushing balance patches, with updates on August 7 and August 13, 2026. In those posts, Paul explicitly states ongoing intentions: improving melee weapon damage scaling, adding new assignments, adding new bonus encounters to existing locations, adding a new Dojo room upgrade, and continuing loot improvements across missions. No end-of-development statement has been made. The Zombie Funeral DLC released on March 3, 2026 is the only DLC listed, and it is fully released. Localization work mentioned in May 2026 is also still described as ongoing beyond version 1.2. There is no specific named upcoming content item announced (no unreleased DLC on the store, no named expansion announced), but the developer is clearly mid-stream on active post-launch development with a very recent major update and explicit statements of more work to come.
