Evaluation

Deadly Trick entered Early Access on July 31, 2026, and the developer has maintained an active, frequent update cadence since launch. In the roughly two months since release, the team has shipped multiple feature patches including UI overhauls, new shadow abilities, a multi-kill mechanic, a tutorial, and various quality-of-life improvements. The developer published a roadmap on August 14, 2026 listing both short-term features (improved Deadly Trick icons, additional trap objects, a match history review feature) and long-term content including a new island-themed map, new characters, character skins, and a new smaller-group game mode. This was reinforced and expanded in the most recent developer communication on September 23, 2026, where the team acknowledged that major updates have been delayed due to the complexity of building foundations for upcoming content. They confirmed active work on a new island map (being designed with boat travel between areas, currently in testing and outsourcing), and a new character whose spirit-movement ability is still being refined. Character design is at the rough sketch stage due to scheduling issues with an external illustrator. The developer emphasized these are taking longer than expected but committed to delivering them. The game is clearly mid-development with significant named content still in progress. The developer is communicating openly and regularly, and none of the announced content has shipped yet.
Evidence
Developer confirmed a new island-themed map (with boat travel mechanics) and a new character are in active development, but acknowledged major updates have been significantly delayed due to the complexity of foundational work. Character design is still at rough sketch stage.

About this game

'Deadly Trick' is a anime-style social deduction game!

Your ultimate goal is to complete the class activities and survive the deadly 'Special Class' at Lastope School.

Gather your friends and play together!

Deadly Trick is designed for 5 to 8 players.

In Deadly Trick, players choose their own roles.

Depending on your choice, you can become a kind-hearted "White" or a ruthless "Shadow"!

If you choose to be the White,

Complete the class activities and escape from the school!

If you decide to become the Shadow...

Secretly eliminate the other participants!

When an incident occurs, an investigation begins.

Players gather clues at the crime scene to figure out who the Shadow is.

During the "Class Trial" that follows the investigation, you must identify the culprit.

If you fail to pinpoint the culprit during the trial...

Everyone except the Shadow will be immediately executed.

That’s why it’s crucial to discuss thoroughly and deduce who the Black really is!

Organize the clues you’ve gathered into "statements,"

Share and review each other's statements,

and use them to advance your deductions and find the culprit!

Once you've found the culprit...

They must face the consequences!
