Death by Game Show

Death by Game Show launched on January 22, 2016 and received a handful of patches and updates in its first few months. Patch 1.01 shipped on February 4, 2016, addressing player feedback on difficulty and economy. Patch 1.03 followed on April 18, 2016, adding new audio tracks, UI refinements, and balance changes. A soundtrack DLC was released on April 25, 2016. The last developer communication of any kind was a December 16, 2016 post in which the developer reflected on the struggles of the Steam marketplace and floated the idea of a Kickstarter campaign to fund a simplified "new version" of the game. That post framed any such new version as conditional — dependent on community interest and crowdfunding — and there is no evidence the Kickstarter was ever launched or that additional content was delivered. No developer posts, patches, or announcements have appeared since December 16, 2016. The store description includes the line "Death by Game Show is still very much being refined and improved," but this language dates to the game's early 2016 launch period and has not been supported by any developer activity since late 2016. With no updates, no announced content, and no developer communication for nearly a decade, the game is best understood as having reached its final state as of the developer's last post on December 16, 2016.
