Evaluation
Deep Space Battle Simulator launched out of Early Access on November 5, 2021, after approximately 20 months of development and over 45 major updates during that period. At launch, the solo developer (yeswecamp) posted a development status update stating that "the development of DSBS does not stop here," promising continued improvement updates and new content including new ships, turret types, and game mechanics.
Following the full release, the developer delivered several updates through early 2022: three feature patches shipped in November 2021 (Updates 46, 47, and 47 — the latter being a balance patch), and a substantial feature patch in March 2022 (Update 48) adding a 3D fighter radar, flares, physical UI interactions, EMP torpedoes, and interior damage systems.
However, Update 48 on March 2, 2022 appears to be the last developer communication of any kind. Across 50 news posts scanned, all six major content updates and all post-launch activity fall before that date. There have been no patch notes, announcements, blog posts, or developer statements of any kind since March 2, 2022 — a silence of over four years as of June 2026.
While the developer promised continued content at launch, the sustained silence since March 2, 2022 — far beyond any reasonable expectation for a solo developer who was previously shipping updates regularly — indicates that active development has ended without a formal announcement. The post-launch content window (November 2021 through March 2022) saw steady output, but that pattern has long since ceased. The game appears to have reached its final state with the March 2022 update, even though the developer never formally announced an end to development.
Evidence
Update 48 shipped with 3D fighter radar, flares, physical UI interactions, EMP torpedo, and interior damage systems. This is the last known developer communication of any kind.
Developer announced full release from Early Access and stated that development would continue with new ships, turret types, and game mechanics planned for the future.

About this game
Deep Space Battle Simulator is a round-based multiplayer first-person online game, where you play as a part of a capital ship crew and try to destroy the enemy team's ship.
At the start of each round, you can customize your cruisers turrets, fill your hangars with lots of different smaller fighters and choose between numerous upgrades to give you the edge in battle. Once the round starts, move your capital ship freely in all three dimensions, shoot the turrets manually or use the ships integrated targeting systems to just focus which points of the enemy ship to focus. Control the energy distribution of your ship, raise the shields of each section of the ship individually, or direct energy to the engines, life support or weapon systems. You can also explore the giant interior of your capital ship while running to a hangar to join the battle with a smaller fighter and board the enemy ship and sabotage their generators, shields or engine.
Different battle sizes include additional frigates for each team, which also have a full interior to explore and interact with, and can be docked to capital ship or the space station, which has a capture point inside that will give huge advantages to the team controlling it.
Current Features:
● multiplayer mode for giant space battles with multiple capital ships, frigates and a space station to fight for, all with complete interiors
● three optional singleplayer missions serving as an introduction to the game
● navigate your ship, manage its energy distribution and make use of a variety of different weapons options
● enter one of the smaller fighters located in your ships hangars and tip the scales in your favor
● board the enemy ship, sabotage important parts like the generator or engine and fight its crew
● lots of different turret and fighter classes to customize your ship
● a huge amount of selectable upgrades like droids or gun lockers
● different ship classes like capital ships, frigates and multiple smaller fighters
● five different player classes, with different weapons and abilities
● complete options menu, with game, graphics and keybinding settings including controller support
● either play on dedicated servers or host your own games in-game
