Stellar Survivor was created as a third-year academic project by a team of students at Breda University of Applied Sciences. The game launched into Early Access on June 20, 2019 and received two updates over the following weeks — a balance and bug-fix patch on July 2, 2019, and a co-op multiplayer update on July 4, 2019. On September 30, 2019, the team published a final statement explaining that their academic assignment had formally concluded and that they were moving on to their graduation year. They stated they could not promise any new features or updates, and that the game would remain on the store as a free-to-play title. No further communication has come from the developer since that September 30, 2019 post. The game has never reached a 1.0 release and remains flagged as Early Access on Steam. Given the developers' own statement that updates were ending and the complete silence since late 2019, there is no indication that development is continuing or that a full release is planned.

The game might contain bugs, work in progress art, or features not fully developed or balanced yet. As the development of Stellar Survivor continues, we will address these issues and improve the game.
Stranded on an alien planet, you have to defend the Powercore that helps you to stay alive from hostile alien enemies. You have to strategically set up your traps to defend yourself against those aliens. You can choose different traps such as the Spike Trap, Electric Tower, Mines and more! You can freely place these various traps in a tactical way to steer the aliens where you want them to go!
Over the course of waves, the number of aliens increases. You have a variety of weapons you can use against the aliens: Assault Rifle, Shotgun and the Sniper Rifle! Play together with your friends to increase your chance of survival! How long can you stay alive?
- Play with your friends in drop-in drop-out multiplayer! (Coming soon)
- Gather resources and build defenses to prepare yourself for the waves of aliens!
- Fight different alien types, each with their own abilities!
- Different types of traps, turrets, and defensive structures. Place them strategically to kill as many aliens as possible!
- Realistic extraterrestrial planet!
- Destroy the aliens with three different weapons, each suitable for different situations!
