Deluge: Sermon for the Dead

Deluge: Sermon for the Dead launched out of early access on May 17, 2024. The base game shipped with three ending routes and eight total endings. The developer (lain / leaves) was transparent throughout development that Mei's ending route had been cut from the main game due to workload constraints, and committed to restoring it via DLC. That DLC — the Mei Ending Route — was released on October 5, 2025, adding a full ending route with two new endings and bringing the total to ten. In the release post, the developer explicitly stated that "the original vision for the game has been restored," signaling that the game is now content-complete as originally conceived. Since the Mei DLC shipped, the developer's communications have focused on other projects in the Deluge series. A February 2026 post announced a demo for a separate game, Deluge: Raintime, describing it as both a predecessor and epilogue to the Deluge Chronicles — a new standalone project, not additional content for Sermon for the Dead. A March 2026 post described a quality-of-life update replacing all remaining AI-art placeholders with human-drawn artwork, completing that ongoing process. Neither post announces or implies further story content for Sermon for the Dead. With the Mei DLC fulfilling the developer's stated original vision and no further content announced or hinted at for this title, the game is complete as of October 5, 2025.
