Departed Away

Departed Away launched on January 29, 2024 as a visual novel with multiple character routes. Since launch, the developer (Alperen Torun, known as "Nooarth") has shipped a handful of patches adding features and fixes, and announced plans for additional story routes — most notably an expanded Lora ending announced on June 27, 2024, and a note in January 2025 that the Lora route was about half complete. Routes for Veronica and Beatrice were also promised. However, on August 17, 2025, the developer published a candid post acknowledging that promised updates have not materialized. The post revealed the developer is busy with both a new game project and their studies, and that any major Departed Away update would take so long to produce that it might be better delivered as a full remake someday — with no timeline provided. On December 22, 2025, the developer formally announced their new project, Blue Detective, and asked fans not to be upset about the lack of Departed Away updates. On March 22, 2026 — the most recent communication — the developer posted again exclusively about Blue Detective, with no mention of any planned Departed Away content. The last actual update to Departed Away itself was the January 28, 2025 patch. The promised story routes remain undelivered, and the developer has essentially confirmed they are not actively working on them. The situation is genuinely uncertain: content was announced and remains unshipped, but the developer has signaled they've shifted their attention elsewhere with no committed timeline for returning.
