Desert Stalker is an Early Access adult visual novel that launched on Steam on December 13, 2024, after four years of prior development. Since launch, the developer (Zetan) has maintained a consistent cadence of major content updates: version 0.19 shipped on September 10, 2025, version 0.20 on February 11, 2026, and version 0.21 on July 7, 2026. Each update has added substantial new story content, character scenes, animations, and gameplay improvements — the most recent 0.21 alone included approximately 1,270 renders and a significant continuation of the Ivy character storyline. In the 0.21 release post on July 7, 2026, the developer explicitly referenced the next update: "In the next update (0.22), we plan to go back to some of them and focus on the simpler joys in life," confirming that another content update is already being planned. A bug-fix patch (0.21.4) followed on July 18, 2026, the most recent developer communication, demonstrating continued active engagement with the game. The game remains in Early Access with more content actively announced and no indication whatsoever from the developer that it is approaching completion.
