DESOLATE

DESOLATE launched out of Early Access on January 17, 2019 as version 1.0, completing its story with Act III. After launch, the developer shipped meaningful post-launch updates: a major content update called "The Takeover" had actually released during Early Access in August 2018, and after 1.0, a significant combat overhaul update arrived on June 5, 2021, followed by a smaller animation and respawn update on November 1, 2021. The October 2020 roadmap post promised further improvements to combat, AI, and the open world throughout 2021 — and the June 2021 major update appears to have delivered on those commitments. After November 2021, developer communication about DESOLATE itself went quiet. The two most recent news posts (June 2024 and July 2024) are publisher announcements about other games in the HypeTrain Digital portfolio, with no mention of new DESOLATE content. There are no unreleased DLC entries, no announced future content, and no roadmap pointing to anything beyond what was already delivered. The last substantive developer activity on the game was the November 1, 2021 update. The gap between that update and today (June 27, 2026) — nearly five years — far exceeds the game's historical update cadence and strongly indicates that development has concluded. The game appears to have reached its finished state with the June 2021 major update as the final significant content release.
