Evaluation

DigDigDrill launched on December 9, 2024 and has received consistent post-launch updates from its solo developer, including feature patches and bug fixes throughout 2025. On June 28, 2025, the developer published a roadmap announcing planned additions including a Trial challenge system for endgame players, expanded equipment options, a potential skill tree or effect evolution system, and new ways to spend in-game currencies. Controller support — one of the items on that roadmap — was delivered in version 1.1.0, announced on September 19, 2025. On the game's first anniversary (December 10, 2025), the developer explicitly stated: "Even after reaching our 1st anniversary, development will continue," and confirmed active work on new end-game content including a Stage Skill Tree System. Most recently, on July 2, 2026, the developer posted a development update acknowledging the gap since the last update and confirming that new content is still in progress. Specifically, they previewed new variants of special effects — such as torches that fall from above and roads that increase movement speed — with screenshots, and stated they will share more details as the release gets closer. The developer is actively working on new content and has communicated as recently as July 2, 2026.
