Evaluation

Disgaea PC is a PC port of the classic SRPG Disgaea: Hour of Darkness, released on February 24, 2016. The store description explicitly states it "includes all content from Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness," indicating this was conceived as a complete content package from the outset. Following launch, the developer issued several bug fix and feature patches through mid-2016 to address technical issues reported by the community. The most significant post-launch content addition came on August 22, 2016, when four additional playable characters from the Disgaea franchise (Adell, Rozalin, Zetta, and Pleinair) were added as a free update. That August 22, 2016 post is the last developer communication of any substance — and notably, it was used to announce Disgaea 2 PC rather than hint at further content for this title. No DLC has ever been listed for this game, no roadmap or future content has been announced, and there have been no developer posts since August 2016. The game has received no major content updates in nearly a decade. The developer never promised further content beyond what has shipped. Disgaea PC launched as a complete product containing all previously released content from the game's console history, received post-launch polish and a small character addition, and has been content-complete since August 22, 2016.
