Dishwashing Simulator launched on April 3, 2024 and received several patches and quality-of-life updates in its first months. On May 5, 2024, the developer stated there were no plans for major content or reworks, though they left the door open for something small with no promises. After a long quiet period, the developer returned on March 20, 2026 with update 1.3 — a community-requested patch adding achievements and various fixes. Crucially, in that same post the developer explicitly stated: "I consider the game 'done.' So any updates will be pretty similar to this one." This is a clear developer statement that no further meaningful content is planned. A follow-up bug fix (1.3.1) shipped on March 28, 2026. The game is a self-described short narrative experience (4–6 hours), and the developer has now formally closed the book on content development.
