DISTRAINT 2

DISTRAINT 2 is a self-contained 2D psychological horror adventure game that launched on November 13, 2018. The developer, Jesse Makkonen, is a solo indie creator who released the game as a complete narrative experience. Post-launch, he added an Italian translation and released the official soundtrack on July 5, 2019 — the only DLC, which has since shipped. A 2024 maintenance patch addressed a launch error, improved font support, and prepared the game for Steam Deck verification, but introduced no new story content. Jesse Makkonen has continued making games since DISTRAINT 2, releasing Heal (April 2020), Afterdream (September 2023), and Without a Dawn (May 2025) — all separate titles posted to this store page as developer announcements. None of these represent additional content for DISTRAINT 2 itself. In a July 22, 2025 developer post, Makkonen reflected on DISTRAINT 2 turning seven years old and discussed the possibility of making DISTRAINT 3 as a separate future game, contingent on community interest. This confirms DISTRAINT 2 itself is complete — any potential sequel would be an entirely new title, not additional content for this game. All DLC has shipped, no further content for DISTRAINT 2 has been announced, and the developer has not indicated any intention to expand this game further.
