Doom & Destiny Advanced launched into Early Access in mid-2015 and received a steady stream of major content updates through its full release on November 15, 2016 and beyond. The developer shipped seven named content updates over the game's lifetime, with the final major content drop — the NOODLES UPDATE on March 20, 2018 — described as "the ultimate content update," adding a fully explorable world, a new class, new questlines, and the level cap raised to 149. A smaller feature patch followed in March 2019, but no further major content has shipped since then. The most significant recent development is a studio closure announcement posted on May 20, 2025, in which Heartbit Interactive stated they are shutting down due to economic reasons and can no longer sustain development of new games. They noted that existing games will remain available with support "as long as possible," but no new content is coming. This is a definitive end to development. Given the studio closure, the game is complete. The last meaningful content update was the NOODLES UPDATE on March 20, 2018, which was itself framed as the ultimate update for the game.
