Evaluation
Doomtrooper CCG has been in Early Access since August 3, 2020 and remains there as of today, June 27, 2026. The developer, a small solo-led studio, has continued to post periodic updates throughout the years: the most recent patch on June 12, 2026 includes bug fixes and explicitly states it lays the groundwork for a "next content update," confirming the developer is still engaged and has content in progress.
That said, the pace of meaningful development has slowed dramatically since the game's early years. The two major content milestones identified in the post history — including the launch of the Crafting system in March 2021 — were delivered more than five years ago. Back in May 2021, the developer outlined an ambitious roadmap: completing the base card set, launching a full tutorial and single-player mode, draft formats, mobile versions, and translations. A September 2023 post described sweeping backend changes made to prepare for upcoming content updates. While activity has continued in the form of bug fixes and occasional feature patches, none of the originally promised major milestones (1.0 launch, draft mode, mobile, translations) have been announced as complete.
The developer is confirmed to be a very small team — at times a single person — and has historically been transparent about the challenges that brings, including pulling problematic cards from the pool to focus limited time elsewhere. The game continues to receive developer attention, and the June 2026 post shows the project has not been abandoned. However, the gap between the original promises and what has shipped, combined with the absence of any concrete 1.0 launch timeline, means the game's path to full release remains uncertain.
Evidence
Latest patch includes a Steam account linking fix and 'foundational fixes for next content update,' confirming the developer is active and preparing additional content.
Developer announced weekly card additions working toward completing the base set, with plans for draft modes, mobile versions, translations, and a 1.0 launch after the base set is finalized.
