The developer explicitly announced on August 9, 2016 that the fourth and final chapter — Doorways: Holy Mountains of Flesh — would release the following day, and confirmed it as the conclusion of the Doorways saga. That final chapter launched on August 10, 2016, completing the series. The store description also lists all four chapters, noting the series is divided into three separate products (Prelude covering chapters 1 & 2, The Underworld as chapter 3, and Holy Mountains of Flesh as chapter 4). Since then, the developer has shifted focus entirely to newer projects — including Hellbound, Out of Bounds (released December 2022), and their upcoming title Tenebris Somnia — as confirmed by their 2023 and 2024 recap posts. The most recent developer communication on January 6, 2025 focused exclusively on Tenebris Somnia. There is no indication of any further content planned for this game, and a 2019 post even made previously paid DLC content (music, videos, concept art) free, further signaling the game's content cycle has long concluded. Doorways: The Underworld is a complete, standalone chapter in a finished series.
