Westwood Shadows: Prologue is a free standalone prologue released on September 23, 2021, designed to preview and build interest in the full game, Westwood Shadows. At launch, the store description explicitly promised that the full game would arrive "Coming in 2022" and would feature combat, more puzzles, and additional mechanics. RedSoup Studio actively patched and improved the prologue through December 5, 2021, and launched a Kickstarter campaign on November 9, 2021 to fund the full game's development.
However, after December 5, 2021, all developer communication stopped entirely. The promised 2022 release window for the full Westwood Shadows came and went with no announcement. The Kickstarter campaign outcome is unknown from the available information. There have been no developer posts, patch notes, or status updates of any kind since December 5, 2021 — more than four years of silence as of today, June 22, 2026.
The prologue itself appears to be functionally complete as a standalone experience, but it was explicitly positioned as a preview for a larger game that was promised and never delivered. Whether the full Westwood Shadows is still in development, cancelled, or indefinitely on hold is unknown.
