Evaluation

Downfall launched on February 15, 2016 as a complete, self-contained horror adventure game. It includes the original 2009 version of Downfall as a bonus, and shipped with its only DLC — the original soundtrack — on launch day. Post-launch developer activity consisted entirely of localization patches (French, German, Spanish translations added by July 2016 and January 2017) and a technical update in February 2018 to improve graphics settings and engine compatibility. None of these updates introduced new story content or signaled ongoing content development. The most recent post mentioning Downfall (July 18, 2025) was an announcement for Harvester Games' next project, Trainwatch — a new game unrelated to Downfall — with a brief thank-you to players who bought Downfall during a Steam sale. There is no unreleased DLC, no announced future content, and no post-launch content cadence. Harvester Games has moved on to new projects. Downfall shipped as a finished product and remains complete.
