Dragon Fin Soup

Dragon Fin Soup launched on November 3, 2015 and received a series of patches through early 2016, culminating in the 1.07 "Community ChowDown!" update on February 8, 2016. In April 2016, the developer announced a major content update called "Dragon Fin Soup: Extra Chunky Edition," promising new dungeons, pets, gameplay systems, and ports to additional platforms. However, in January 2017, the developer acknowledged that 2016 had been extremely difficult for the studio — they described "refactoring the team" after surviving what they called the "Indiegeddon fallout" — and stated that the Extra Chunky Edition release was still a goal for 2017 alongside other plans. That January 2017 post (dated January 25, 2017) is the last recorded developer communication of any kind. No further updates, patches, announcements, or developer statements have appeared since then. The Extra Chunky Edition was never released on Steam — no separate listing or update shipped — and no follow-up communication has confirmed it is still in development. Given that the last developer communication was on January 25, 2017, now more than nine years ago, and that a promised major content update was never delivered with no further explanation, the Extra Chunky Edition announcement should be treated as an unfulfilled promise that was effectively abandoned. The game's current store description and DLC list show no unreleased content, and the sustained patch activity ended in early 2016. The base game launched as a complete experience, and the last content shipped was the 1.07 patch in February 2016. With no evidence of ongoing development and nearly a decade of silence from the studio, the game is best understood as a completed and abandoned product.
