Evaluation

Dragonflight launched on Steam Early Access on August 31, 2015 and officially released as a VR experience on July 28, 2017. The July 2017 launch announcement from CEO Larry Jones explained the studio's pivot to focusing on VR as the primary direction for the game, noting the non-VR version would remain accessible via a legacy branch. This post marked the official 1.0 launch and represented the conclusion of the game's development arc. The game's full post-launch content history consists of a single major update (version 1.3 in September 2016, which added VR support and new zones), three feature patches adding free flight, weapon tuning, and leaderboards, and a handful of bug fix patches — all of which predated or coincided with the official July 2017 release. There have been no developer communications, patches, or content releases of any kind since the July 2017 launch post. That is nearly nine years of silence. No DLC has ever been announced or listed. The developer made no commitments to post-launch content in the launch post beyond a vague hope to eventually revisit the non-VR version "depending on the growth of the franchise" — language that is aspirational rather than a concrete commitment. Given the complete absence of any developer activity since July 2017, the game shipped as a finished product with no post-launch content cycle.
Evidence
CEO announces official VR launch on July 28, 2017, describing it as the studio's pivot to VR. Mentions hope to revisit the non-VR branch 'in the future' depending on franchise growth, but frames this as aspirational rather than a firm commitment. This is the last developer communication on record.

About this game

Dragonflight VR is a multi-level VR experience featuring massive, destructible environments, fast-paced combat with enemy dragons swarming the skies around you, ancient castles teeming with archers, and lost wizard towers shrouded in mist. Ride your dragon over mountainous countryside, through showers of flaming arrows, and then deep into canyons where huge dragons rule. The only way to get a more realistic feeling of riding a dragon than Dragonflight VR would be to breed one!
