Evaluation

Dread Fields launched on May 28, 2026 and has been receiving rapid post-launch updates. In the two and a half weeks since launch, Podoba Interactive has shipped five updates (Updates 1–5), adding controller support, Linux and macOS ports, Steam Deck compatibility, Polish localization, new horror elements, new soundtrack tracks, a collectibles menu, and various bug fixes. The developer has been consistently communicating planned future content across multiple posts. At launch on May 28, 2026, the team listed upcoming work including more horror content, a new farming activity, controller support, Steam Deck support, and additional localizations. Update 4 on June 4, 2026 reiterated a roadmap covering Italian and Thai localizations, and a June 4 post separately called for volunteer translators for additional languages. While some of these roadmap items (controller support, Steam Deck, Linux/macOS) were fulfilled by Update 5 on June 13, 2026, the developer's stated commitment to more horror content, a new farming activity, and further language localizations remains outstanding and has not yet been delivered.

About this game

THE GAME IN WHICH RURAL ROUTINE MEETS MYSTICISM AND DARKNESS.

A Quiet Place

"Life in the big city has become too tiring and stressful for me.

I have decided to sell my apartment and move to the countryside.

A strange old man sold me a house with a small farm in the middle of nowhere.

The locals call this area Dread Fields.

Great, so no one from my old life will be looking for me here.

I hope that a measured life, physical labor, and fresh air will bring happiness back to my life."

Rural Routine

  • pick mushrooms in the forest

  • chop wood

  • fish

  • grow plants

  • take care of the garden

  • feed the chickens and pick eggs

Features

  • ending depends on your choices

  • aesthetics of the Eastern European village (somewhere in Ukraine)

  • graphics stylized as mid-2000s games
