Evaluation

Dreamcore: Rabbit Hole launched on April 24, 2026, created by a solo developer (with a small two-person team). From day one, the developer stated the game would continue to grow, with additional locations planned for Relax Mode. Since launch, the game has received a steady stream of updates. Feature patches shipped on May 2 and May 26, 2026 added retro visual modes, reworked voice acting, and improved physics. On August 7, 2026 — just eight days before today — two brand new levels (Highway and Dreampools) were released as a major content update, expanding the game's world meaningfully. The April 26, 2026 roadmap outlined a community voting process for future levels, meaning player ideas will continue to shape upcoming content. The developer has been transparent about pacing: the Highway level was originally planned for June/July but was delayed to ensure quality, and the team communicated proactively about that delay on June 27 and August 2, 2026. The May 26 post also noted that Story Mode is complete and will not change, so ongoing additions are focused on Relax Mode levels. With the August 7, 2026 major update freshly released and a pattern of regular new levels being added post-launch, the developer is clearly in an active phase of adding content to the game. No specific next level has been formally announced yet, but the roadmap's community voting process suggests more is in the pipeline.

About this game

Dreamcore: Rabbit Hole is a meditative walk through unsettlingly familiar liminal spaces, inspired by dreamcore aesthetics and the image of the “ideal America” of the 1980s.

Every location is a distinct place with its own atmosphere, architecture, and soundscape. Sometimes cozy, sometimes unsettling, but always slightly familiar—like the memory of a dream or a place you feel you’ve already been.

Modes:

  • Story Mode — the tale of a person searching for the way back to reality.

  • Relax Mode — free wandering through dream worlds, with no goals or restrictions.

Who it’s for:

  • anyone tired of the hustle and noise

  • anyone who needs to “switch off” and just roam

  • fans of dreamcore, liminal spaces, and atmospheric walks

Here, the dream ends only when you decide to wake up.

The rabbit hole goes deeper than it seems:

We plan to expand Relax Mode with new additional worlds that will allow you to immerse yourself even deeper in the aesthetics of dreamcore and liminal spaces. All future content updates will be free for everyone who has already purchased the game.
