Drive Isle

Drive Isle has been in Early Access since August 15, 2017. The developer is a solo developer working around a day job and single parenthood, as disclosed in a June 4, 2022 post that also noted development had paused for several years before being resumed at that time. The previous evaluation (dated June 27, 2026) flagged the game as development-uncertain due to more than two and a half years of silence since November 15, 2023. However, the situation has changed: the developer posted a feature patch on June 28, 2026 adding basic VR support with a readable GUI, and followed it with a bug fix update on August 6, 2026 addressing controller and resolution issues. These two updates, appearing after the prolonged silence, demonstrate that development has resumed. The most recent developer communication was on August 6, 2026. The game remains in Early Access with no announced 1.0 roadmap or completion timeline. There are no unreleased DLC listings and no stated future content commitments. The developer has not signaled an end to development, but equally has not outlined a path to a full release. Given the solo developer's circumstances and the historically slow, intermittent update cadence, the status remains Early Access with active but slow progress — and no outstanding content commitments to track.
