Evaluation
Drunken Wrestlers is a preserved historical release. The developer, Oleg Skutte, created this game in 7 days back in 2013 as a game jam entry. After it was removed from Google Play due to outdated ad SDK compliance issues — and the developer explained the Unity 4 physics engine prevented any meaningful upgrade — it was re-released on Steam on January 10, 2020 purely as an archival release. The store description explicitly warns players that this is not a game to play on its own merits, but rather as context for Drunken Wrestlers 2. The developer's own post from January 10, 2020 makes clear the technical situation is a dead end, with no path to updates or continued development. The game shipped as a complete, finished artifact with no post-launch content cycle intended or possible.
Evidence
Developer explains the game was made in 2013 with Unity 4 and cannot be updated due to physics engine incompatibilities introduced in Unity 5. The Steam release is purely archival — to preserve the game's existence and provide context for Drunken Wrestlers 2.
Store description explicitly warns players to only play this game out of curiosity or nostalgia, describing it as the predecessor to Drunken Wrestlers 2 rather than a standalone product. Framed entirely as a preservation release.

About this game
WARNING: ONLY PLAY THIS GAME IF YOU'RE CURIOUS WHERE DRUNKEN WRESTLERS 2 CAME FROM OR FEELING NOSTALGIC. THIS IS NOT A GOOD GAME ON ITS OWN
Recently, this game was removed from Google Play Store. As a result, there is now barely any trace of it left on the internet. By releasing it on Steam, I'm hoping to fix that. It would also give some context to Drunken Wrestlers 2.
