Duck Simulator 2 is a free-to-play indie game that launched on November 22, 2021. The developer shipped several feature updates over its first year, then on September 30, 2023 released v2.2.0 — explicitly stating it is "likely the final update coming to Duck Simulator 2" and describing it as a transition toward Duck Simulator 3. This follows an earlier August 4, 2022 post that also described updates as a "final hurrah" before Duck Simulator 3 work began in earnest, and a March 2022 post similarly calling a release "final." While the developer hedged with "likely" in the September 2023 post, the overall arc is clear: the developer has explicitly wound down active content work on Duck Simulator 2 and shifted focus to the next game in the series. The most recent post (October 7, 2025) was a routine security patch applied as a precaution — maintenance activity only, with no new content announced. There is no unreleased DLC, no announced roadmap, and no stated plans for future content. The sole DLC (the soundtrack) released in December 2021.
