Following the 1.0 launch, the developer (a solo developer) shipped several feature updates — v1.1 (October 22, 2021), v1.2 (October 27, 2021), and v1.3 (March 16, 2022) — adding new perks, teams, achievements, and gameplay systems. The final substantive update was v1.4.4 on September 9, 2022, which achieved Steam Deck Verified status. In that same post, the developer noted they had welcomed a new baby and hinted they were moving on to a new game project, encouraging players to follow their developer page for future releases. The most recent post, a security patch on October 3, 2025, was purely a maintenance update to address a Unity security vulnerability — it added no new content and is consistent with routine upkeep rather than active development. There are no unreleased DLC, no announced future content, and no roadmap. The developer's own messaging since September 2022 has pointed toward wrapping up Dungeon Deathball and moving on to other projects. The game appears to be a complete, finished product.

💀🏀💀 Dungeon Deathball is a turn-based, tactical death-sport where you desperately try to score touchdowns, outsmart savage beasts and survive a randomly-generated gauntlet of blood, guts and goals.

🏆 Lead your team of captives to freedom!

They've been imprisoned for as long as they can remember. Now their only chance of freedom is to survive a series of barbaric trials for the entertainment of bloodthirsty hordes. Win the game and your team will be released, but be warned: the penalty for failure is death.
