Evaluation
EARTH DEFENSE FORCE: WORLD BROTHERS launched on Steam on May 27, 2021, along with 18 DLC packs covering additional characters, costumes, and gear. A final content addition — the "Additional Mission Pack: Another ResCUBE" — shipped on June 10, 2021, adding advanced missions and new weapons.
All 19 DLC items are marked as released, with the last one dated June 10, 2021. There have been no news posts, patches, or announcements for this specific game since mid-June 2021. The developer's subsequent activity has been focused entirely on other titles in the EDF franchise: Earth Defense Force 6 (launched July 2024 with two mission packs in August and October 2024), Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 (launched September 2024 with its own extra mission pack in November 2024), and an unrelated new title, Full Metal Schoolgirl (launched October 2025).
The release of a direct sequel (World Brothers 2) in September 2024 further confirms that this original game's development cycle has concluded. The game launched as a complete product and received a small post-launch content drop within two weeks of release, after which all development activity moved on. There is no announced or unreleased content remaining for this title.
