Earthlingo

Earthlingo is a free-to-play vocabulary learning game that has been updated consistently since its 2019 launch. Major content milestones include a Battle Mode and 10 new languages in November 2022, a large update in September 2023 adding a full story, a new main character, and cel shading, and another substantial update in September 2024 adding a day/night cycle, talking NPCs, and free sentence mini-games. That September 2024 update explicitly listed a range of content still in development: tasks and goals, an experience system, new battle input modes, new vehicles, 6 new languages, and multiple playable characters. A bug fix post on November 24, 2024 repeated this, stating that "new features, new characters, new languages and game engine update [are] coming soon(ish)." None of this announced content has since appeared on the store. However, as of today (October 8, 2026), the developer's last communication was on November 24, 2024 — nearly 11 months ago — and none of the promised content has been delivered or acknowledged. The game's historical pattern showed major updates roughly every 6–12 months, but this silence now extends well beyond the upper end of that window with no explanation. The planned content remains unshipped and unconfirmed, making the status of ongoing development uncertain.
