Edge of Book

Edge of Book (锋芒录) launched into Early Access on December 28, 2020 as an explicitly unfinished game. The developer acknowledged at launch on December 29, 2020 that the game was not yet mature and asked players for more time to polish it to the standard they envisioned. Between launch and early 2021, the developer was actively patching the game, shipping a series of small updates through January 13, 2021 that added new characters, fixed bugs, and tweaked gameplay systems. On March 31, 2021, the developer posted a notice that the game would be temporarily removed from Steam China due to a version number policy review. They explicitly stated that development would not stop during this period and that they hoped to return with a richer experience for players. That March 31, 2021 post is the last official communication from the developer on any channel. No further updates, patches, announcements, or status reports have been published since that date. The promised return and continued development have not materialized in any publicly visible way. The game still carries its Early Access designation, and the store description still includes a "and more, stay tuned..." note — but there is no evidence the developer has been active for more than five years. Given the outstanding promise of continued development, the Early Access status implying the game is unfinished, and the complete absence of any developer communication since March 31, 2021, the game's development status is highly uncertain.
