ELDERBORN

ELDERBORN launched in full on January 30, 2020 after a period in Early Access. Following launch, Hyperstrange shipped several post-launch updates: a New Game+ mode in March 2020, controller and engine improvements in November 2021, and ongoing localization additions through December 2024. A security patch was applied in October 2025. The original game's two DLC items — the Original Soundtrack and a Digital Art Book — are both released. The store description describes a complete single-player experience of 8–10 hours, and there are no unreleased DLC items for the base game. On June 3, 2026, Hyperstrange revealed ELDERBORN: Vengeance, a standalone prequel set in the same universe. This is a separate product available to wishlist on Steam (App ID 3815480) — it is not DLC for the original ELDERBORN. The announcement does not indicate that new content is coming to the original game itself. A developer post from October 2020 (NEWS-8) stated that "the game will continue to expand," but this was published nearly six years ago, and no specific additional content for the base game has been announced or delivered since the November 2021 feature patch. The more recent developer communications (2024–2026) focus on other Hyperstrange titles and the new standalone prequel, with no mention of further updates to the original ELDERBORN. The 2020 promise of expansion appears to have been fulfilled through those subsequent updates, and there is no current outstanding commitment to new content for the base game. ELDERBORN is a complete, finished game. Players looking to experience everything it has to offer can do so now.
