Emi - New Beginning

Emi - New Beginning is a standalone adult visual novel that launched on November 8, 2022. It shipped as a self-contained story with a fixed word count, render count, and animation count. The only post-launch update was a minor December 17, 2022 patch adding an in-game guide and stat tracker — a quality-of-life improvement, not new story content. The developer has since moved on to building out the broader "Emi universe" as a series of separate, standalone titles: a Christmas Special (announced November 2023), a sequel ("Emi 2" / Long Road Home, announced as coming in December 2024 per NEWS-1), and an unrelated game called Adverse Effects. These are all separate Steam listings, not additions to this game. The November 5, 2024 announcement for Long Road Home explicitly frames it as a follow-up game, not a content update to New Beginning. There are no unreleased DLC entries on the store page, no roadmap or promises of additional content for this specific title, and no developer communications suggesting further updates are planned for New Beginning itself. The game launched as a finished product and received one minor patch shortly after release.
