Evaluation

Enemy Mind launched out of Early Access on June 6, 2014 as a complete, finished game. The developer continued refining it through 2014 with several patches addressing bugs, boss reworks, and high score systems. On August 18, 2015, the lead developer posted a candid update explaining that Enemy Mind was no longer a paid project — they were working on it in their spare time because they loved it, not as a commercial endeavor. That same post dropped Mac support explicitly, delivered what appears to be the final substantial update (adding Steam Achievements, new mechanics, chiptune credits music, and various quality-of-life improvements), and described the game as "much more complete" in this form. No roadmap, future content plans, DLC, or expansion announcements were ever made. Subsequent posts from Schell Games in late 2014 and 2015 were about unrelated new projects (Orion Trail and The Nullpoint). There has been no developer communication of any kind since October 2015. The store description presents the game as a self-contained experience with a defined feature set (8 levels, 70 waves, 20+ ships). The game launched as a complete product and the August 2015 update served as its definitive final version, after which the developer moved on to other projects.
Evidence
Developer candidly stated Enemy Mind is no longer a paid project, dropped Mac support, and described this build as 'much more complete.' No future content was promised. This appears to be the final substantial update.

"The game really is the whole package. GameCola Score: 9 - Excellent" GameCola June 2014

"Overall I was very impressed by what Schell Games was able to achieve with a genre that is not really known for innovation. The game is addictive enough that you will want to complete it a few times in order to piece together the whole story and of course the co-op mode will also eat up a lot of your spare time if you have friends nearby. While shooter fans will obviously enjoy the game the most I urge anyone that has an interest in polished, unique titles to try it out as it is definitely worth the effort. Rating: 8/10" GAMERamble June 2014

"Enemy Mind is an excellent and unique take on the shooter genre. Definitely worth the price at full retail." Nerd Age June 2014
