Jamestown is a completed top-down shooter that launched on June 8, 2011. It received one paid DLC, "Gunpowder, Treason and Plot," on November 10, 2011, which represents the full extent of post-launch content for this version of the game. No further content has been added since then.
In December 2019, Final Form Games released Jamestown+, a standalone remastered edition featuring new levels, ships, and engine improvements. The original Jamestown page now carries a prominent notice that it will likely be delisted in favor of Jamestown+. The last developer communication specific to this game was a bug fix patch on October 7, 2019, made in preparation for the Jamestown+ launch — a maintenance update, not new content. All development energy has clearly moved to the newer Jamestown+ release. This game is a finished product with no announced future content.

Unlike most top-down shooters, which give multiple players a shared pool of lives or continues, Jamestown does something different. So long as any player survives, the team can be brought back from death. By giving every player the power to rescue their team from the jaws of destruction, Jamestown creates an exhilarating cooperative experience where everyone’s contribution truly matters. Win or lose, your team will do it together.
