EVERSPACE™ is the original game in the ROCKFISH Games series, released on May 25, 2017. It received one major paid expansion, Encounters, on October 24, 2017, which added new story characters, a new ship, weapons, and more. A soundtrack, artbook, and wallpaper pack was also released on August 17, 2017. Both DLC items are fully released with nothing unreleased in the store listing. After the Encounters expansion launched in October 2017, all developer communication shifted almost entirely to EVERSPACE 2, their sequel. Posts referencing the original EVERSPACE game are limited to pricing announcements (March 2023) and seasonal sale promotions — none of which indicate any new content is planned for the original game. The March 2023 pricing post explicitly frames EVERSPACE as a completed predecessor: "It's been more than five years since we released EVERSPACE!" and lowers its price ahead of the EVERSPACE 2 launch, with no mention of future content for the original. The developer's most recent communications (including the December 2024 year-in-review) are exclusively focused on EVERSPACE 2 and its upcoming expansion. EVERSPACE™ is treated throughout as a finished, legacy title in the series. With both DLC released, no unreleased content listed on the store, no roadmap or announcement of future updates, and developer focus fully on the sequel, the game is complete as of October 24, 2017 — the date of its final content release.
