Fabled Lands launched on May 26, 2022 and has received three paid DLC expansions since then: Lords of the Rising Sun (February 16, 2023), The Serpent King's Domain (May 23, 2024), and The Castle of Lost Souls (November 27, 2025). Each added substantial new content — new regions, quests, enemies, and items — establishing a consistent pattern of major releases roughly every 12–18 months.
The most recent developer communication is a patch note from May 13, 2026, where the developer confirmed they are actively working on their next game, Blood Sword, but also addressed the future of Fabled Lands directly. Specifically, they noted that the original writer for Book 8 (Paul Gresty) has stepped down and a new writing team has taken over the project. The developer expressed clear intent to bring Book 8 content to the game, stating they hope "that can happen sometime next year" (i.e., 2027). This is a direct developer statement of planned future content, even without a firm release date.
The game is fully purchasable, not in Early Access, and actively maintained with bug fix patches. All three listed DLC are released. The next major content addition — Book 8 — has been explicitly acknowledged as a future goal by the developer as recently as May 2026.
