Evaluation
Farlight Explorers is a solo-developed 3D space sandbox game that left Early Access and launched on February 1, 2019. Following its full release, the developer published one bug fix update on April 22, 2019 — the last content-related post for the game.
On September 8, 2020, the developer (David) published a candid and heartfelt statement about the game's future [NEWS-1]. He explained that after more than five years of solo development, he had made the decision to move on and begin work on a new title, Farlight Commanders. He explicitly stated that continuing to expand Farlight Explorers "is not possible now" and expressed a hope — but not a plan — to someday create a Farlight Explorers 2. This is a clear developer statement that active development on Farlight Explorers has concluded.
There have been no news posts, patches, or announcements for Farlight Explorers since September 8, 2020. No DLC has been listed on the store. The game shipped as a complete, standalone product and the developer has confirmed they have moved on to other projects.
Evidence
Developer David explicitly states that continuing to expand Farlight Explorers 'is not possible now' and announces he is moving on to develop a new game, Farlight Commanders. He expresses hope for a sequel someday but confirms no further development is planned for this title.
Developer formally announces the next game, Farlight Commanders, with a Steam store page and Kickstarter campaign — confirming the studio's focus has shifted away from Farlight Explorers.

About this game
Farlight Explores is a 3D space-sandbox game, made for space exploration, science fiction and resource management fans. In this game you can build your base or spaceship, explore the galaxy, extract unique ores in each planet or asteroids, craft new products, transport goods from one planet to another and more...
Auxiliary systems: Design and maintenance of all the elements that your base or spaceship need to be operative (water, food, oxygen, energy).
Automatization: Manage and automate the extraction of ores and production of elements that are essential to grow your base.
Transport of goods: Build spaceships in order to transport the goods is vital in order to produce all the possible elements of the game because each planet will have unique characteristics.
Managing a colony: Once you build the Singularity Gate, you will be able to manage a little colony with differents buildings, where your colonists will have a variety of needs to fulfill.
When you start the game you choose a planet to start from the hundreds out there in the galaxy map. Once on the planet you have to extract resources to begin building a base that provides you with the items to survive like food and oxygen. If the base is secure, you can start building your spaceship to go to other planets to extract unique resources that you need to develop new technologies, or you can also use your spaceship to explore.
