Evaluation

Final Fantasy I Pixel Remaster launched on July 28, 2021 as a polished remaster of the 1987 classic. Square Enix followed up with a series of patches improving stability, UI, controls, and gameplay features — most notably the January 30, 2024 Ver. 1.1.0 update, which added the original BGM option, classic font option, gameplay assist modifiers, and other quality-of-life improvements. The most recent update, Ver. 1.2.0 on March 5, 2025, addressed a minimap bug, achievement fixes, and minor UI issues. The only DLC ever released for the game is an optional original soundtrack pack (January 23, 2025), which has shipped. There are no unreleased DLC items, no announced future content, and no roadmap pointing to additional updates. The game's store description presents it as a complete product. Square Enix has made no communications since March 5, 2025, and there is no pattern suggesting further major content is planned. This is a finished, complete product.
