Evaluation

Final Knight entered Steam Early Access on January 12, 2025 and remains in that state as of June 2026, currently at version 0.85. The developer (2oclocksoft) has been actively and consistently updating the game throughout its Early Access period, with 49 total news posts including 7 major content drops and 17 feature patches. Major additions have included an entirely new Arcade (Roguelike) mode launched on September 29, 2025, an Endless Dungeon called "Night of the Gatekeeper" on August 29, 2025, and numerous system overhauls covering party building, combat mechanics, equipment sets, and UI. The most recent update (v0.85) was posted on May 3, 2025, which itself noted that "more updates are planned going forward." Most tellingly, a November 29, 2025 update post explicitly listed several features still in development: new bonus stages, a Synthesis Artisan NPC, new playable Arcade characters, and additional high-grade equipment sets and new monsters. This confirms the developer has concrete, named content still to deliver before the game is considered complete. The version number (0.85) also clearly signals the game has not yet reached its planned 1.0 release.

About this game

Final Knight is a strategy-driven action RPG inspired by the world of Dungeons & Dragons.
In a classic fantasy setting, players form a party using a wide range of weapons, spells, artifacts, and items to face massive bosses that threaten the world.

Combat

Outside of your directly controlled character, allies act automatically.
Take advantage of the Tactical Command (time-stop) system, inspired by CRPGs, to pause the battle and issue orders with precision.

Seamlessly switch between characters in real time—taunt enemies as the Warrior, unleash Meteor as the Wizard, perform a Backstep as the Rogue, or cast healing spells as the Cleric—chaining them together into powerful combos.

Party Building

Choose 4 characters out of 9 distinct classes to form your party.

Each class fulfills a fundamental role—Tank, Damage Dealer, or Support—and can further specialize through leveling, advanced job changes, and stat growth.

With unique feats from equipment and the Formation system that alters party positioning, you can craft and execute your own strategies.

Growth Paths

Every party member can progress in multiple ways:

  • Advanced job changes

  • Unlocking unique feats

  • Mastery upgrades

  • Crafting and fusing equipment

  • Gear enhancement

  • Discovering bonds between characters

Your team evolves endlessly along the paths you choose.

Endless Gameplay Loop

Take on raid-style battles against powerful bosses.
Break their weak points, harvest materials, and forge new equipment.
When enemies are staggered, unleash devastating combos by combining strategy with precise controls to bring them down.

Local Multiplayer

■ Play offline 2-player co-op, experiment with skill synergies, and discover new ways to combine abilities with a friend.
